Slice of Life #9: Bugs

Thank you for your good-bye stories. Some of those were
hard to write. Hugs to all!

Butterfly my daughter found yesterday

Here we are with July whipping up to an end. Summer has all it's varieties of wonders: camping, fishing, sailing.... lots of wonderful activities to be enjoyed over the summer months. And mother's pack their special cans of bug spray to lather everyone up with to ensure minimal bite-age (I made that word up. heehee!!) Spiders lurk along fence posts and under BBQ grills. Bugs will eat at your garden, and fleas will attack your dogs. Butterflies, dragonflies, and fireflies delight young and old. And I'm sure with all this exposure, there's a bug story you need to share. ;)

This prompt might be harder for the genealogy folks. I know there are some stories of malaria and other such diseases spread by bugs. I also thought maybe there might be someone in the family tree that liked doing insect collections with the younger generations. Or maybe they had a story that included the flies on the horses or something. I know in the South the June Bug is almost a historical icon itself! If you can't think of anything, feel free to generalize this prompt into "Summer" and use that. :)

Looking forward to hearing your bug stories!

  1. Thanks for keeping us going on this! I think it is getting me sharing things that I might not have thought about making a note about for the kids to read.
