Slice of Life #71: Festive Fall

Caramel Apples with sprinkles.
No wonder he's got such a happy smile.
:)

Last year we did the "Fall Harvest" theme and danced around Halloween. This year, let's write about those lovely festive things we do in Fall that makes us feel so cozy. Caramel apples, State Fairs, leaf art, drives in the country, travel for Thanksgiving, etc. What makes Fall special to you? Did your parents make a tradition that you chose to pass down? Or not? I know a family that has one of those Christmas light shows on their house. Every year BEFORE Thanksgiving (due to snow) their Fall is tied up in hanging hundreds of lights so that the community in December can enjoy. Many memories have been created from their endeavours. This will be their sixth year.

Perhaps for you, it's simply the cooler wind on your face as you wrap up in a blanket on the porch with a good book and a cup of cocoa. I have to admit, that's one of my favorite private celebrations during Fall too.

What makes your Fall festive?
