Welcome to Sharing a Slice of Life!

Hello, and welcome to the rules for sharing a slice of life meme! To participate is easy!

Why do Sharing a Slice of Life?

1) We all know we need to write our stories for posterity. Rare is the individual who can sit and write it all out in chronological order, but we can all remember a slice at a time.

2) By joining a meme, you might find yourself remembering and writing about things you wouldn't have thought of!

3) Support and fun! It's interesting to see how many different angles can be written on the same subject matter. It's also easier to stay committed when you have others cheering you on for your efforts.

4) Working on family history is a great Sunday activity!

Rules

Every Sunday I'll have a new prompt for you here. Go to your blog and post something on that subject - whether it's a story, a poem, a description, a photo.... whatever you want, as long as it's out of YOUR life (or an ancestor's is fine) that has to do with the subject matter. Be sure to link back so others can find us and join in the fun.

If you would like (it would be nice) you can share one of these buttons to link back:

HAVEN

OR, if you prefer pie.....

HAVEN

(If you need a smaller button, let me know.)

Then come back and leave a comment along with a link to your post so we can come visit and give you kudos for writing on your family history one slice at a time! (I haven't decided to use Mr. Linky yet or not.) It isn't necessary to visit everyone that participates, but try to share some love. Remember - comments are hugs in the blogging world.

Of course we hope you'll post something that day, but anytime during the week is fine.

There is no minimum or maximum. Make your post as long or as short as you like/care to. Just be sure to do the linking so we can participate together.

If the prompt does NOTHING for you, don't despair. There is always the option to write what's in your heart. NO PRESSURE.

If you don't blog but want to use the prompts for journal writing, please feel free. We hope you might consider leaving us all a little love. :)

Most of all, have fun!!! This is your history! Learn from it! Share it! Laugh with it!

Any questions?

Addendum: I am in Mountain Standard Time - so please be patient if your Sunday begins before mine does! ;)

Chitra - YES! There is no obligation - when you want to participate, just come on by and share your link with us. If you don't want to or can't for any reason, we'll know when you don't add your link to Mr. Linky! :)

  8. Goody! Glad ya'll are going to come back! :)

I will make a smaller button and have it posted tomorrow (Thursday) - I've got two girls in a Shakespeare play we're going to go watch tonight, so I probably won't get to it until then. :)

I plan on using Mr. Linky, although I know sometimes he's kinda glitchy. I figure if that happens, people can just leave their links in the comments.

    Welcome aboard!
